What can I wear for a job interview at a Beauty salon & SPA ??

Im interviewing for a receptionist position at a Beauty Salon and SPA.. I have never really worked at a beauty salon, so I really am clueless on what should be appropriate for the interview... Help !

Also.-

I really really want to get this job .. any advise on what would help me get it ??

check it out!

GL!

Just wear a nice somewhat dressy outfit. Once you start working at the spa or salon, you will have to dress up everyday, so wear something that you feel you would wear to work. This will show the employer what to expect from you if they were to hire you. As long as you look nice, neat, and cleaned up they should hire you, as long as you fit the job requirements.

And something to do to try and get the job is just to be yourself. Be very friendly and smile a lot. Chat with the interviewer, but dont be too chatty.

Good luck!!!

Go with something very simple, yet elegant.

As far as the interview goes, try emphasize your eagerness to help and ability to learn quickly. Try to highlight various abilities or skills you've acquired that will help you in filling the position:

-Courteous customer service over the phone and in person

-Multitasking

-Remaining calm under busy or hectic situations

-Scheduling

Good luck and have fun!

Don't over-do it- it should be kind of business casual... minimal, but classy. The general dress code for a spa is black.

I would probably wear a pair of black skinny pants with a slouch at the bottom and a pair of wedge shoes, with a cute collared shirt. The pants could also be maybe a pair of black floods or a pair of capri's maybe with a flat shoe. I wouldn't wear a pair of pants that go above the knee or a skirt or dress. And if you're going to wear heels, I would stick with a wedge shoe- if your heels are too thin or high, you'll end up looking like a hooker!

Hope this helps!

Have you been to the beauty salon before? If you have, did you notice what the employees were wearing? Take clues from that. I will mention that typically the cosmetic standard is to wear black, but this varies from company to company. Also, when it comes to your makeup keep it simple and approachable. Less is more.

I think the main thing you want to do is to style your hair, your nails, and your face. It would help show them that you have real potential and that you strive for beauty, daily.

As for the outfit, you could wear something simple and casual, but still professional. Such as, a collared shirt and a skirt with nice open-toed high heels. Or a nice and cute blouse with jeans or nice pants with flip flops.

id wear formal pants and a short sleeve white shirt for any interview.

make sure your hair and makeup looks amazing, make sure u get your eyebrow and lip waxed a couple of days before and paint ur fingernails (and toenails if showing). As this shows you are interested in fashion and beauty, i know the first thing my boss does is look at toenails if they are showing.

for a top i would do somthin like this:

then a nice blazer

jeans

nice heels

a cute bracelt

and your bag

simple chic but not boring!

Black Slacks, not too tight, not too baggy.

Nice fitted button up

heels or wedges, which ever look best with the pants.

Make sure your hair is done, and your hands look nice! Not too much makeup(natural is best)

Something classy and beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful!

Just dress casually. You don't want to look like you're trying too hard...... maybe some nice skinny jeans and a cute little top. Nothing fancy...

Wear a nice classy dress. Act confident and be yourself.

A suit never hurts anything...

Some Smart Black Trousers And A White Shirt.. Average Black Heels.. Simple But Effective

wear something simple but chic. Black is good.

look

pretty...clean..mateur

they dont care how pretty u look az long as you look clean and profensional

What do you want in a beauty salon?

Thinking about opening an innovative Beauty salon, doing market research to find out--

When is the last time you've been to a beauty salon?

What was it for? (style change, touch up, special event--wedding..etc)

What services did you get done?

Did you have to go to multiple places to get what you were looking for (example- going to tanning salon, to gym, to hair salon..etc)

What you be interested in a one stop shop salon? A place that offered traditional beauty services as well holistic healing services, accupuncture, tattoo, gym..etc

Any other comments?

What I would want in a salon is one that offers a variety of services, but has packages at a lower rate. Like a mom's package where you get your hair styled, a ped, and a massage for about $150.00. I'd go for that instead of making three appointments where the hour massage is $60.00. The hair appt. is another $60.00 and then the ped is about $20.00. You can also throw in little gift bags to go with the convenience of a one stop, beauty and make-over salon. For a valley girl of sorts you can offer a tanning session, highlight touch up and maybe a facial...don't have a price suggestion, but I'm sure you're a smart person. A professional might want a guaranteed....hour session that includes a fifteen minute massage, ped, man, and catered lunch from an outside vendor for a set price....like $100.00 WITH the honored guarantee. Sure you're going to lose some on that one, but I bet you get five back in return when their professional colleagues hear about it. LOL Also consider having each section decor'd differently...maybe the mom's section can be serene and free of bright colors that remind them of kids....a professionals section can look alike like a residence or hotel - basically a get away from work. Maybe the tanning section can look like the beach with a waterfall and the like. I could go on forever as you can see.....see ya!

Id it to be relaxing, peaceful...sorta like a spa-ish thing. Itd be really nice. Super friendly staff, and good quality products.

The last salon i went to wasa facial salon and spa. Its really nice and very relaxing. The surroundings were really cool. Just make the place look great. Not funky or anything.Maybe nice and peaceful. I thinkt he person just wants to be relaxed when getting soemthing done.

You know... salon's these days have pretty much everything that I want, I just have to go to a ton of places to get what I want! I mean, I know why that HAS to be done, but I don't like it.

I want to be able to have massage, nails, toenails, facials, skin treatments, micro-derm abrasion, body treatments, calonics, hair cutting, hair coloring, hair styling, waxing, threading... everything! To be able to offer all of these things and more be almost business suicide! That's why most places only offer a few of these services.

It's not that when I go to a spa or a salon I would actually use or take advantages of the services, it's just nice to know they're there!

I will say, though, that two things that I wish that most places offered are foot washes during the summer time when people are more likely to wear sandals and flip fops. Not a pedicure, just a nice foot wash and a scrubbing of the dirt.

Also, Aveda offers this, but not really hair styling or anything fancy, but I think that more people need to do deep conditioning treatments for hair... inexpensive ones. A creamy conditioner, some olive oil, and a little heat, and you have a deep conditioner!

But, that's just me! Lol... good luck!

i would like friendly staff that arnt intimidating as long as i can have a facial and my nails done with out some one looking down on me i'd be happy

Why are my beauty marks on my face fading?

How can i make them darker again like when i was younger? Is it the salicilic acid or benzoyl peroxide ingredients in some products that i use that is the beauty marks to fade? Please help me, i don't want to lose them.

Actually a lot of beauty marks fade with time. You cant do much to stop it. I girl I know has one that is redish. It used to be very strong, but now its fading a lot. I depends on how strong it was to begin with.

You could try staying out of the sun, general skin protection, not using anything with chemicals... but I dont know how much that would help.

How do I start a beauty salon?

My Beauty Salon is going to be called.....Mannequin __________

There are going to be 3 parts to my salon.

1. Hair Salon

2. Nails and Make- up

3. Clothes ( like hottopic)

How do I find a space to rent?

And

What should i call the salon?

You search the internet, or look in newspapers, in a section there'll be like a place that advertises. Or drive past those buildings that have like rent signs and stuff. It has a phone number too XD

I don't come up with good names. LOL

thats awesome!! good for u

Beauty Care What is the best eye, face, and/or lip creams you have ever used?

I am curious to know what would you recommend? I am looking for an eye cream (for slight wrinkles around and under), a face cream (for tone and moisture), and a lip moisturizer/enhancer. I am not able to afford the really pricey stuff, just products I can buy in a local store. I love to learn random beauty techinques that people do that's "just their own" too. :) Thanks for your time!!

Well I don't know if my reccomendations will be of any use to you because I have oily skin (dont know what skin type you have, so it may not be beneficial). But anyways, for eye creams, I use Mary Kay's Firming Eye Cream (around $40 or somethingm - but it lasts forever, I've had mine for about 2 years now and I use it almost every night) because I want that area moisturized.

For facial moisturizer,I use Mary Kay's Time Wise face moisturizer for Oily-Combo skin types ($35 or so - again, it lasts forever). For lip balm, I switch back and forth between Victoria's secret Beauty Rush lip balm ($7.50) and Mary Kay's Satin Lips lip balm ($10 I think). Sorry if my reccomendations are out of your price range, but really, they last so long, you end up saving the money.

clinique makes a great face cream, it comes in a yellow bottle and is not TOO expensive around 20-30 dollars. Lancome makes a good eye cream its called something is french but thats around 36 dollars. lip enhancers I would use sally hansons lip plumper..it really works and is only about 6 dollars.

How can i find myself a beauty related job in a good spa or salon?

I have just qualified as a beauty therapist in NVQ level 2 and am having lot of problems finding a job? I also desperately want to start my mobile business as a beauty therpist but dont know where and how to start. Can anyone please advise?

How about taking a basic small business course at your local community college for starters. You'll learn about business plans and finding money to finance your dream.

Where can I get placenta in bulk for my beauty salon?

I manage a beauty salon in downtown Dallas and our trade secret is that we use placenta in our shampoo (works great with Paul Mitchell products) because I heard somewhere that the protein in placenta helps your hair. I know that its' cured my split ends! My problem is that we're almost running out of our current stock. A few gals that work for me were able to donate their placenta when they had babies but nobody's pregnant now. Is there a place we can buy it in bulk? I tried the St. Luke's Hospital in Plano but they said they throw 'em out. Do you think Costco would have it?

Have you tried Placentas R Us? This about the time of year the hold their year end clearance sales, maybe you can get a discounted rate on their already low prices.

that's disgusting...

you should try a 2nd or 3rd term abortion clinic you freak

I JUST CALLED COSTCO FOR YOU AND THEY SAID THEY RAN OUT...THE SECRET MUST BE REALLY GETTING AROUND....I WOULD CALL COSTCO AND HAVE THEM CALL YOU WHEN THE SHIPMENT COMES IN.

try cows and then go to a meat packer

good luck

That was WAAAAAYYY more info than I ever needed about hair care! Now I'm kinda glad I'm going bald on top.

Maby we could start our own factory.

It'll be like having our own ranch.

People say symmetry in a face is beauty?

I kind of know what symmetry is, but can someone explain it in the face? like, what do you mean by symmetry in a face is what makes someone pretty? examples too please thanks :)

and also what isnt symmetry in a face

It means that the face is balanced on both sides.

Not only are both eyes the same shape, but if you cut the lips, nose, and chin in half they are identical. The jaw bones, cheeks, etc. are all identical, plus there is identical spacing on both sides.

If one eye is bigger than the other, it isn't symmetry. The thing is, if there are two of something on a human body, they are never the same size. This goes for ears, eyes, nostrils, girls' upstairs, guys' downstairs, feet, hands, etc.

It doesn't necissarily make them pretty, but it makes a balanced, pleasing type of thing usually.

As the other person said, both sides of the face are exactly the same. As an example, the distance from the outer edge of the eyelid to the nostril will be the same from either eye or the distance from the eyelid crease to the brow will be the same distance from either eye. I saw a show about this years ago. During the test the testers put two pictures on the screen (one face symetrical and the other not symetrical). Babies would stare at the symetrical face which would imply beauty. But look at Heidi Clum (Victoria Secret Model), her eyes are different (one sags) so her face is NOT symetrical but she is still pretty.

I think so that a symmetrical face is a face that its components (eyes, eyebrows...) are exactly alike.

But I have ptosis disease, and it means that One of my eyes looks slightly smaller than the other, and it's not beautiful at all. I don't like it :(

i've heard that too- the face and the body.

wierd.. but, after i thought about it, i think it's true

it means when one side of the face is EXACTLY the same as the other side.

http://www.pauldavidson.net/wp-content/themes/wfme/images/entries/symmetry.jpg

i dont necessarily think a symmetrical face is pretty, but the face itself. i dontknow. it sounds absurd to say that a symmetrical face is pretty, but not others.

Got new job in black hair beauty shop but want to know what my job role?

My job to talk to people to get them to buy hair products in African/Caribbean shop.

Was it salesman or sales assistant or I don't know what it call.

All you need to do really is try and persuade them to buy hair products.. but i'm sure you already knew that lol

Erm..

I think it's a sales assistant as you are assisting to persuade these people to buy them

but also you are trying to sell so I am guessing you are a mixture of both.. mainly a salesman as you are getting people to buy.

I dunno if this has helped or not though..

Good luck lol

Would you like to have a spa/beauty service in your hotel of Costa Rica?

I'm an experienced massage therapist and owner/manager of a spa in Canada (since year 2000). I've been to Costa Rica before and I love this country! My dream is to open a spa in Costa Rica and move there.

I speak french and english and would like to learn spanish as soon as possible. I also have 2 years of experience as an inn director (60 employees).

If you own an hotel and would like to have a spa/beauty service but you don't have the skills to do it, I would love to help you!

Please email me!

julie_eyelom@yahoo.com

Hi Julie, my suggestion is to go to http://hotels.co.cr and e-mail each hotel with your offer.

Good luck!

How much do you tip the owner of a beauty salon?

I am in a controversy. The guy that cuts my hair is the owner of the beauty salon, so I never know weather to tip him or not.

I mean whatever I pay is going to be for him anyway, its not like other places where they only get a certain amount of what they do or they have to pay a booth rental.

Do not worry about tipping them as much or the same as you would an employee. Even though it may not seem necessary, they are doing work like any other employee would do and need the money to keep business. They deserve a tip if you are satisfied.

I certainly would not give them a drastically smaller tip, but at the same time, I would not quite give them a huge tip.. As I mentioned, they need to pay bills and need tips just like any other employee.

I say tip what you feel is right, but do not feel pressured to tip more/less because it is the owner.

You tip whomever cuts ur hair... whether they r the owner or not... most owners don't take the hair cutters tips... so if he isn't the only one cuttin hair then tip him... if he is the only one... and I do mean the only one, which he isn't if its a salon, then u don't tip him if he is the owner.. but then again... I go to a ladies home she cuts my hair gives me a price, the nI give her a tip, what's the difference.... don't worry bout it and give a tip, if he is the owner then just don't make it as big of one if it will make you feel any better.

15-20% is proper, the whole "not tipping the owner thing" is from the 70's and 80's when the owners made all the money off the workers and payed only minimum wage, it is different now, but you absolutely tip the owner

That money goes to bills, paying employees, keeping up to date with the currently technology, and keeping inventory, then he gets paid.

tip him.

I never tip an owner. As you mention, they get the money they are charging. Other workers are more dependent on tips as part of their pay.

20 percent

6-8 dollars

i'm pretty sure it's tacky for the owner of a salon to accept a tip.

$5

How do i remove a beauty spot from my face?

i have a 1mm diametre beauty spot on my face, i have had it since birth, how do i remove it ,as i hve been bullied cos of it, as it makes me look weak and feminine. i have been made fun off by my firends as it's not usual for a guy to have a beauty spot on his face, plus im thinking of joining the army and i know if i dont have it removed i won;t even make it past the interview stage as they might think im too soft. so pls someone help me?

lol get some sort of skin make up to hide it or fade it so it don't stand out too much, haveing it removed might give you less chance of haveing a g/f, as women love beauty spots on guys.

Why do they call them beauty marks when they are usually ugly? I would go to a derm specialist. Maybe make up would work for you in the Army. Just don't try it in the US Army.

I dont think you can remove it.

Just put on some make up to cover it up.

That's what I do

Go to beauty center. The derm can take it off with laser.

You need to go to the dermatologist to have something like that removed. It needs to be dealt with professionally.

I have deleted all my smarty comments about the army as that wasn't really part of your question.

Is it hard to learn to cut hair in beauty school?

I really want to attend beauty school, but I'm afraid when it comes to cutting hair, especially if it's thick and/or curly, that I'll fail miserably.

not really you start out on mannequins so if you jack that up it's no big deal. your first haircut will not look pretty no ones ever does. don't worry it is actually very easy and when you are in beauty school you can't worry about messing up someones hair even when you are working on clients they know they are going to a school to get their hair cut plus if you feel really uncomfortable just ask a teacher to stand next to you and help you. that's what you are there for. also what they taught me in school that i think is the best advice i've gotten and it really does work. with this industry 80% of customers will come back to you if you have a great personality even if their hair didn't turn out that great. as long as you make them belive they look fab and make them feel like a queen. and most people will come back to you just cause you have a great personality. of course if you totally jack up their hair that's not the case but still this just is basically being a friend doing another friends hair.

Let me tell you my first day in beauty school the teacher gave us our doll heads scissors and everything we would need for the rest of the year.....Then she said the magic words....Everyone hold the hair at a 0 elevation'.....0 elevation??? what the %!#^&*# is this??? MATH? MATH? I hate MATH! I looked at her and she looked at me and I said I am sorry I didn't know this was going to be MATH ....I am going home! She said 'Oh no you aren't, now you get back there and I will show you how to do this"

Thank God she did this has been my life for many years.....You are not even allowed to cut human hair till the teachers think you are ready....believe me you will learn almost everything you need to know by the time you graduate. One thing they did not teach us was how to use a clippers.....You could go to a barber shop and speak to the barber and ask him / her to show you how to use one......later as you feel you kinda know what you are doing....I wish you good luck and happiness!

Don't worry! Even fourth year hairdressers stuff up. Just keep going at it and you'll be fine. Make sure you get your self a good pair of scissors though! Otherwise it will make cutting harder. Also if its curly hair..its not as easy to ntoice if the haircut is bad!

well to start with your teacher will be beside you until u know what your doing.. when i went we had manikins (spelled wrong im sure) we did work on them alot with cuts and perms..but when you are doing hands on the teacher helps and walks u through it donr be affraid its not bad at all..

No actually! It's all about angles, baby!

All day beauty spa in Nurnberg or Kaiserslautern Germany?

Im thinking of a birthday gift for a special lady and I figure an all day spa would be nice please help sombody

Dude, Nurenberg, without any doubts, it's bigger and a lot more history than Keiserslautern. I'd tottaly pick Nurenberg

The only reference I can find to an actual Spa is something about the "wellness centre" in the downtown area. The info is below:

Schulte's Hotel du Vin - Hotel & Boarding House Kaiserslautern:

Malzstrasse 7

Five walking minutes from the hotel is the Wellness Centre Kaiserslautern which offers wellness at its best on 5 floors. Additionally, the hotel provides a conference room of 40 m² with daylight.

I wish I could find more, but am limited by location! (as in I am in NC, and you are asking about Germany!!!!) Good luck!

I have vouchers for a beauty salon that has gone out of business? How can I get my money back?

My friend and I have vouchers worth more than £100 each for treatments at a beauty salon which has gone out of business. My friend has just been to book the appointment and the place looks to be closed, their website has disappeared and their phone line is dead. There is no info on the door. Is there any way we can try and claim our money back or do something. The vouchers were presents and we're more gutted for the people who bought them than the fact we're going to miss out.

my first question is: had you ever been there before? if so, try locating a stylist from there and see if they would still be willing to accept the vouchers at her new workplace. also, ask the businesses next to them to find out the owners name and track them down for more info...maybe they just switched to new places. they have to work somewhere!

Where/What do I go to get beauty mark on face removed?

Laser 'surgery' @ the dermatologist or beauty spa? Or what are other very immediate and effective ways without scarring and not too expensive?

DO NOT GO TO THE "SPA"!!

A dermatologist specializes in this. Trust me here, don't make the mistake I did. I got a "beauty mark" removed and now have a horrid scar in its place.

Need feedback for a new website for hair and beauty products for black ethnics?

Hi There, Hopefully I'm launching a new website in hair and beauty can people give me there feedback and opinions as to what women would like to see on such a website.

It will be mainly for black ethnics i.e hair relaxers, oils etc.

Any feedback would great!

Thanks

on the website i suggest doing different types of relaxers from sensitive scalp to having some for coarse hair. i would also suggest having oils, oil sheen, hair grease and any other priducts similar to those.for beauty products, i would reccomend cosmetics for women of color like eyeshadow, foundation, lipstick/lipgloss and nail polish. you could also post beauty tips for african americans too:D

That would be so good, i have a couple friends that are black and they are ALWAYS complaining about their hair. That woud be amazing, they might actually shut up for once.

ahahhah!

Are you just doing black hair or everyone elses!

Can you reccommend any beauty spa in north london?

I was told by my scottish mate ,that they only do ugly in london. He always makes me laugh when he comes down south to see us.

Why is it important to promote the benefits of products to the client in a beauty salon?list 5 reasons?

why is it important to promote the benefits of products to the client in a beauty salon?list 5 reasons

can anyone help with this please?

Product kickbacks, Increased sales revenue. That is all I can think of because I usually tune out when they are trying to sell me all the gunk.

when the clientele are able to see specific results of using a product they are more likely to try it,

it could increase number of walk in clientele

which would increase product sales

raising the amount of commission , or kickback from sales.

bring in product specific customers

increases paid advertising

increases overall revenue

Also, people tend to trust someone who is honest and with visual proof of the quality's of a product it seems that stylist knows what they are talking about and gives good advise (which many people look for in a stylist. after all, beauty advise is the most sensitive you can give to somebody.) (except for maybe relationship advise.)

oh and often stylists will use sample products which cuts personal hygiene costs down ,saving money to spend on more products....and it ..

gives stylists opportunities to test different products

The science of beauty: the perfect female face?

I read somewhere that there us an actual science of beauty and it measures the different contours of the face and has symmetry etc in order to prove the perfect face of a person. I also read that a woman's perfect face is prominant eyes, high cheekbones, a small delicate nose and full lips.

What do you think of this? And what do you think constitutes as the perfect female features?

Just curious, thanks in advance x

Perfection is all in how you look at things- I don't think that perfection is really something that can be achieved even with science trying to say that it is. No one is perfect - someone is always better yet someone else is worse. Not to go all Mr. Rogers but really that is the truth. If we could all just learn to live with who we are then we would all be a lot happier. I know I am.

Honestly, "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder." I don't think beauty is really measurable depending on a few people's opinion. What may be beautiful to one person may be ugly to another. Everyone is different in their own way. Perhaps, with the symmetrical face and different contours of the face could make a person attractive, but you can't classify them as beautiful. Beauty is both on the inside and outside. It is dependent on each individual's judgment of the person.

If this were an exact science I think everyone would agree on who's the best looking woman in the world. But they don't.

I think there's some truth to what they say about big eyes and high cheek bones and such. But I think there's also a subjective element. Remember, beauty is a personal experience. We say something is beautiful because it invokes positive feelings in us when we look at it. Sometimes things can have meaning based on our experience with it, like the familiar face of someone we love or have loved, for example. The sight of a helicopter can be really beautiful if it means we get rescued from a flood.

There are various rules - proportion, childish features in women, symmetry - but people have also said that perfectly symmetrical faces are unreal and creepy. It's a bit like the waist-to-hip ratio for attractiveness in women (0.8, in case you were wandering).

In fact, faces made from an average of many faces are rated extraordinarily attract, so perfect ordinariness may itself be considered beautiful. This may also explain cultural differences in attraction.

I've heard of this before. I also remember that when my husband was taking portraiture classes he was taught that beauty had to do with symmetry and an averaging of features.

Personally I've always hated the idea of perfection. In my mind its the small distinguishing features that makes someone beautiful.

i don't think that it is possible to find "the perfect female/male face". every single person has different taste in what they think is attractive, or perfect, and the guy that i think is perfect looking, my best friend could think is ugly. it's pretty much a pointless search.

idk, but ive heard that too...its something to do with the golden ratio and what humans' brains are hardwired to find aesthetically pleasing...? i mean i guess that beauty sorta is in the eye of the beholder, but i think that humans are predispositioned to find those characteristics pleasing

i did some research cuz i was curious and i found this link, which i thought was rlly helpful...

http://www.usaweekend.com/03_issues/030601/030601symmetry.html

That's probably about right, for me. Beauty is tough because it really is in the eye of the beholder, but if you look at most commonly renouned "beauties", they typically have those features.

supposedly the mona lisa is an example of the perfect face with the perfect ratio's (golden ratio) phi

I think that there are aspects that are universally considered attractive, although EVERYONE is different. We don't all look the same, and I think individuality is what makes someone beautiful.

There is not perfect face. Every single one is different. I could conduct a scientific search and declare that the perfect face has big eyes, a large nose, and thin tiny lips.

Whatever you find perfect only matters. Who says what's perfect? Is there actually an official combination?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Only God is perfect.

yes some say it is tied in with the golden ratio. its all about a perfectly balanced and proportioned face

people generally perceive symmetry in a favorable way

beauty signals fertility

It just takes one question.... Spit or swallow...

If anyone knows of anybody that may be interested please let me know. Or if anyone knows how I can find GOOD staff - I just dont know where to look?

Do I have to be licensed to work in a hair/beauty salon in Kentucky as a shampoo & cleaning girl?

I went and applied for a job at a hair salon but she said she thought that the state regulations had changed and I might have to have a license to work there? Does anyone know? I'm not trying to cut anyone's hair or anything just to clean and shampoo.

I live in Indiana and I did it while I was in beauty school.

I didnt have to be licensed to do it. You would just have to talk to a salon manager and see if they needed you or not.

Its alot of fun! I loved it!

Where can I find a beauty salon in Marlow?

I live in Marlow, and looking for a good beauty salon for waxing as I've tried a few in marlow, and they have not been good experiences.

Hi there, I'm the owner of The Nail Studio in central Marlow. We are 1 year old this week, and we have recently started waxing as a lot of our clients were complaining of the waxing in Marlow, and we were also missing a lot of business; we use special wax formulated to work especially well at low temperatures, an aloe based cream formulation thats really good for your skin.

So come to the Nail Studio - we'd love a chance to show you that waxing doesn't have to be painful or un-nerving! We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the salon (I'm a perfectionist!) and the luxury feel...

We are also adding some other new treatments to our menu - we have been researching over the past 6 months some really exciting new treatments that we would love to offer to the local people of Marlow. Microdermabrasion; the skin care of the celebs (an advanced facial)..Our little nail salon in Marlow will also be introducing all types of face and body care; 1) a medical range for correcting many skin conditions and problems 2) a luxury pampering "bliss" range and 3) a unique brand called Moor Spa which offer some awesome body wraps and spa-like mudpacks!

Please check out http://www.marlownailstudio.com for more info, and to get to know more about us..we'd love to get to know you, so book yourself in now for some ME TIME!

Ps. As I mentioned, it's our 1 year birthday on Thursday 12th of March. Anybody in the local area that fancies popping in to enjoy the comfort of our salon is invited for champers and a big slice of cake! Anytime between 10am and 8pm - we hope to see you then.

Is there a home remedy to remove beauty spots from face?

I have like 9 on my face alone! I hate them so much please please please help me!

If you know a remedy that works please tell me!

Also does putting lemon juice on them really work?

Oh and I can't get surgery or anything like that.

Thanks in advance. :)

there is a effective remedy

apply castor oil on them more than ten times a day daily

they will disappear after month

No there's nothing you can do at home to get rid of them. That's like asking if a black person can become fair skinned at home. The spots are caused by a concentration of pigments under the skin, only surgery can help remove them. And you will probably be wasting your money unless those spots develop into bumps.

i have them too, and i've actually gotten used to them. to lighten them up a bit some cover up or powder works. maybe a touch of concealer on the spot. ive talked to my doctor about surgery and she said that it would leave a more noticable mark than the spot itself so its not worth it.

beauty spots occur where melanin is concentrated. It's a pigmentation thing and you can't lessen their color like you can with freckles.

Does anyone here wonder about how hair and beauty products affect the Earth?

I got to thinking of all the folks around the world who use hair dyes, relaxers, whatnot, and how the packaging goes into landfills and the chemicals go into the water supply and what have you. Would you be willing to go "green" with your beauty routines or is it more important to keep up your look even if the environment is damaged?

yes and i dont care

Wow...we really do live in a shallow society. the hell with the earth as long as you look "hot?" Sad. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20070807190517AAgzOUj&kid=RpB4DmTvBWKL6d4DCuAKgjjWTm1QzsrpML_7bv1uHsXl3zcFUTaz&s=comm&date=2008-08-26+06%3A57%3A04&.crumb=

Good for you! :) People used to use mayo and egg whites to get their hair nice. I've never tried it. But I'm trying new cleaning things, like using viniger and so forth. I used cloth diapers on my 2 boys at the same time for 1 1/2 years, and it did save me a lot of $$ (and they were trained faster!). Sometimes going green can be very economical, too.

This is an interesting ?. Actually, when I was in middle school ( about 15 years ago) my friends and I all bought this environmentally friendly hairspray and products, guess I just forgot about all of them. Now I do hair for a living and don't pay much attention to anything, I think there are bigger things that would impact the environment more but I suppose every little step helps. I am going to go to WalMart and check if they still carry that line of products.

yea i have wondered but that doesn't stop me from using my products and i think the cars are the worst thing right now

I dont wonder I know, I too have been using Earth friendly products not only for personal care but everywhere for over 20 years. I am an "ECOSIT".Is has never been that important to me to ruin the enviornment for vanity or out of laziness or greed. Even when I use this computer I limit the amount of time and when to use it. I think we all should be more mindful in all we do.

ummmm, wel to be honest i dont think much people care about it realy but i think it is very important although i do myself use products that may be hurting the atmosphere now that you put it in that perspective i may change the way i do things although i cant say im going to change my products and makeup they make me look totaly hot and every one loves my style so i may just keep evrything so never mind i totaly take all that back lol

Would you be more interested in beauty and spa products, scrapbooking or Suzanne Sommers products?

If you were to have a home party which would you rather have?

Beauty and spa. Or you could host a Surprise Party with adult toys!

Neither and who are you? nice Awser tho i liked it

Beauty and Spa products...especially if there were door prizes. I think the best parties are the gals night out with my 2 sisters and though I hated sharing a room with them when I was younger, I do miss the "sleepovers"; But the whole "spa" Pamper yourself theme! A great Idea!

The Scrapbooking theme is alright.

The other, no comment, since I cannot imagine what products by that person I'd be tempted to buy...even if it was Beauty and Spa...

beauty and spa products for sure.....suzanne sommers has products?

SCRAPBOOKING HANDS DOWN! You can always need new and improved supplies! I don't always want to have 10000 things of beauty products lying around..you can only get so clean!

How much do shampooist and stylists assistants get paid in a beauty Salon?

How much do shampooist and stylists assistants get paid in a beauty Salon?

Also how much do licensed Cosmetologists that work in a beauty Salon get paid?

I want numbers or approximations.

Shampooist and assistants make about minimum wage...since they are generally in training.

Trained stylists can make from about 28k - 50k, depending on their education, skills, friendliness( draws clientele) and the level of exclusivity of the salon.

k = thousand

**The minimum wage depends on which state you live in (if you even live in the US)

Shampoo girls usually make either minimum wage plus tips or a flat rate under the table plus tips. As for licensed cosmetologist, it depends on their following. If you have a large based clientele you can make lots. If you're just starting out, it's rough.

i just applied ay a salon as a shampoo girl i asked one friend she said $12 an hr, but I'm not sure yet, still waiting for more answers.

How to remove beauty mark on face?

Laser surgery @ the dermatologist or beauty spa? Or what are other very effective ways without scarring and not too expensive?

that beauty mark means something and shouldn't be removed see i had one taken off my hand and i learned that it meant I'd be successful but i never became successful without it

How to get pink colour lighter skin and beauty short hair style?

tell me some tips to get lighter skin all over body and beauty hair

The girl who said go out in the sun and wear a spf 30+ sunscreen - well thats not a good idea, because even with sunscreen you can't stop getting tanned.

If you want to be in the sun then yes wear a spf 30+ or higher sunscreen and wear protective clothing.

Lemon juice apperantely works to get lighter skin,,

but being happy in your own skin is way more attractive than trying to get a different skin color ;)

That message goes towards people who want to be tanned too.

I'd probably suggest if you want lighter skin to use bleaching products they sell at discount stores and they sell them online too but they're is a risk you could get bleach streaks. Safest I think would be bleaching soaps. I don't know about so much because I don't use bleaching products but I know they're out there.

for hair, oil treatments are really good. I bought this oil one time that was great it was Tea tree oil and carrot oil combined it. Heated it up put it on my hair rubbed it in let it sit for about 20 minutes then washed it out and it was nice and silky. I think the bran was Afrikan Organics. It worked good

And blowing out my hair just never works for me unless I go to a salon. It just comes out poofy for some reason. So I recommend a Flat iron for straightening and a curling iron for making curls.

I have curly hair but the curls a curling iron make are nice and look really polished off.

And if you want to see people give hair tips to specific things or makeup tips but visually - check out youtube - type in hair tips or skin lightening they probably have thousands of videos. I know they have a lot of makeup and hair tips for sure

hi , i think this site will surely help you. http://www.skinwhiteningexperts.com they have a lot of products and tips on how to achieve a lighter, flawless and radiant skin

if you want light skin, go out in the sun wearing a good spf. as far a body, shower twice a day and exfoliate with a moisturzing cream, or acne wash if you break out. i use witch hazel skin toner on my face and body, spray it after you shower then put lotion. dont use a lot of heat on your hair. try not to use any at all for like a month and your hair will improve a lot! use the cool setting on your hair dryer and a very low setting on your syling tools. if it burns your hand, it burns your hair!!!

well, im a boy so dunno much, try these garnier colormate and stuff@!

The first thing to do is to ensure use of a good quality cream or lotion with SPF 30+ before you leave home during the day, and reapply as often as recommended if you stay out in the sun for long. I personally use SPF50+.

Checked out www.skinwhiteningexperts.com; they seem to be based out of Philippines - so am a trifle doubtful of the authenticity of their claim. However, that is not to say it won't work, it might very well be the best product under the sun!

Found another site that seems to have what they term natural and safe skin care products and has offices in USA and UK. Check it out at http://www.gudhealthnow.com They seem to have some promotions running now where you get 2 free if you purchase 4. They also guarantee a refund if you send unopened bottles - so may not be a bad idea to check it out...

Hope this helps...

Where do i start if i wanted to open a spa and beauty salon?

how much money will i need will i have to get a loan from the bank will i have to get any licencies

Best thing is to have some qualifications yourself first. Then check out the competition in your area, what their charging and what they offer.

write down the plan then call the small business adminastration they will get you a mentor and help you aplly for free gov money for the startup and low interest loans from the gov my friend startwed a cabinett shoppe that way the mentor will be a retired sucessful business person good luck

It's an Expensive Undertaking. Please make sure the clients are there for You.

$100,000

No licences required. Loan: as much as you can get... depends on how up market you want to go and what equipment you need / treatments you want to do?? I have one client who spent $40000 on one facial machine.

Everone is diffent. You can only borrow as much as your current assets will allow.

Go see the bank or a small business start up specalist!

If I wax my eyebrows in the beauty salon how long will they last?

I've only waxed my eyebrows once, years ago.

I might go to the beauty salon in a week or two and school starts on Aug 20th. I want to do my eyebrows with the 'arch' look.

I want them to be this way till school starts,I might not be able to do them constantly because I don't go to the beauty salon as often.

How long do you think they will last this way of if you get them down how long does it usually last for you.

I don't know, but I usually get them waxed, maybe, once a year, and then tweaze them myself when I start to see hair popping back up.

It's cheaper and faster. And that way you maintain a good shape [ i.e.- "Arch"].

I only have to have them done ever 3 months, but I regularly pluck stray hairs. If it gets too bad I go to the salon.

depends on how fast your hair grows.. but usually two weeks or so...

mine last up to 3 weeks, different people hair grows different.

prb 2 to 3 weeks.

about 3 weeks then little hairs start poking out. but if you pluck the extra hairs regularly they should keep in the 'arched' shape

It lasts a month for me

It just depends. I get mine done every 4 weeks. Sometimes, I needed it on the third week. Somtimes I could have waited until week 5.

about a week or 2 everones is not the same

Lasts about 6 weeks for me

Depends on how fast your hair grows...I do mine every 2 weeks,

You could always get your own Waxer, it's easy to learn how to, Just don't get carried away like I did, I had holes in my eyebrows and made my mother come over to where I'm staying and fix them...

Usually lasts for 2-4 weeks, depending on hair growth. And you will need to do a little maintenance with plucking.

probably 2 weeks, depends on your eyebrows

i think waxing lasts like..three weeks.

probably will last about 2 weeks, but once you get them waxed, it'll be a lot easier to just do some light plucking if some of the hair is starting to come back when school starts, the hairs you need to pluck will be shorter and you'll know which ones and it'll be easier.

I've heard about 6 weeks, but everyones hair is different. I don't wax, my eyebrows are blond and hardly noticiable. : ( !

the salon usually does it too thin. so get your mom to do it. (lasts about 2 weeks at most) so just do it at home in about three weeks.

probably almost about a month but i dont know how fast they grow on you so um.... just go with that good luck :)

like a week 1/2

Does anybody can suggest any beauty products for my face?

I have a oily face, but once i try to apply some facial wash for oily skin, my skin started to dry, get some wrinkles and my skin face is peeling. Can anyone suggest for a beauty products that tighten pores, and can make my skin smooth and removes whiteheads. that is not to expensive but is effective

I have the best and inexpensive product for you! St. Ive's Cream Cleanser with Salicylic acid (especially made for oily skin) but it's creamy so it actually exfoliates your skin and makes your skin super soft. Trust me, I had really bad acne and this stuff is the best! Your skin is gonna look amazing and it;'s only like 4 bucks at walmart!

Clearisil Acne wash. It practicily works overnight!

Use spectro jel. It is what I use. I have dry, oily and pimply skin. Spectro jel comes in different formulas; like for oily skin, dry skin , sensitive skin etc.

Go here and have a look

http://www.spectroskincare.com/

I swear by good old fashioned carbolic soap,

I always take a bar with me when I go camping.

The chemicals in the products are over-drying your skin.

What are some good spa/beauty night tips?!?

hahaha okay its kind of a dumb question but me and my sister wanted to have a spa sort of night, like facials, teeth whitening, hair, lips, eyebrows, eyelashes, and all that... so any fun ideas and tips??

haha dont laugh :)

-Honey and Cinnamon facial scrub ( to rid of blackheads )

-Heating up any conditioner then coating each others hair and then wrapping a steamed towel around and wait to fully cool off, then rinse ( great conditioning practice to make your hair more healthy )

- Cant go wrong with manies and pedies =] make it fun and do eachothers.. let whoever do what they want

-Sugar and olive oil lip exfoliants ... teeeenie pinch of sugar and like a teaspoon of olive oil.

- Olive oil is a great moisturizer too btw .. and the scrub can be used for the body also

- after washing up and doing all that good ol stuff.. me and my friends like to do each others make-up how we wnat it... then also pick out outfits for each other. its funny to see what they come up with.

hope that gives you some ideas... always makes for major fun with me and my friends.. we stay up till the next day just messing around with colors and diff looks.

MAKE SURE YOU GET CUCUMBER IT REALLY WORKS AND ALSO WERE BLINDFOLD OVER YOUR EYES IT HELPS WITH THE MORNING PUFFYNESS

LOL I love facial spa nights. It's not weird at all don't worry (:

Okay You guys could...

curl ahir/blow dry hair/put on mascara/eyeshadow/bronzer/eyeliner/blush... eyebrows/give each other facials/paints nails/chew gum (to whiten teeeth)

have fun!!

How do you get wax (the kind of wax used in a beauty salon) out of a silk top?

At the beauty salon, as the beautician was waxing my legs some wax flew up onto my silk top. I took it to the dry cleaners who said that it was unlikely they would be able to get the stain out. They suggested soaking the top in cold water for one hour. I tried it but it didn't work. Will get it dry cleaned to see if that works.

The beauty supply stores sell a wax remover that might work. It is really used to clean out the wax heater pots and implements, but it might work on your top. The only thing is that it is silk. You also might try Weimann's wax remover available in discount and craft stores. It is used to remove candle wax from holders, but I have used it on table runners, napkins, furniture surfaces, etc. It will leave an oily residue and when it does, I pile salt, cornstarch, borax, baking soda or even talc on the area, let it absorb the excess oil and then wash or launder with a pre-spotter or dawn dishwashing soap. All that being said, none of the fabrics have been silk which is tempermental and generally liquids leave rings on.

Is salt good on your face ? I also need other beauty tips ?

Is salt good on my face ? Oh and i need other beauty tips for my face too that we can make with stuff in our fridge .

I use the honey (pure honey), cinnamon and lemon juice paste ( lemon juice from concentrate, the one from the bottle) This is a home made remedy and it's natural.

For me so far it's the only thing that has worked in reducing acne scars and helps to get a fair complexion, I use it every night, I apply on my the entire face and leave it on for a few hours 1-2 hours then wash it off with cold water. If you can leave it on longer it works better or even overnight but overnight for me was quite tricky cause I couldn't sleep it was too sticky.

You can refrigerate the remedy and use it for the next day instead of making a new paste daily.

This is a remedy I found on an acne website pity I can't remember the name.

I also steam my face 3 times a week for 5 minutes to get rid of those horrible blackheads.

My face feels and looks smooth I never thought a natural home made remedy could do wonders!

i think sugar is better than salt.

some other things you can try:

oatmeal face masks-

just take some oatmeal and hot water in a bowl and mix it until it becomes some what like a paste. put it all over your face and wait until it starts to harden then wash it off with warm water.(this helps with any redness and just makes your skin soft.

No, but sugar is very good on your face.

Any good ideas for a beauty salon theme?

I'm attending Paul Mitchell beauty school in STL. As soon as I get out, I plan on taking a few business management classes and then opening my own salon. I'm sick of all of the "basement" salons and really want an awesome, unique salon. I need help picking a theme. I want something modern, that's never been seen before. What do you wish you could see more of in salons? I need all of the ideas I can get! Thanks!

How about doing a salon that looks like an art gallery. You could have makeup in an artis paint pallet or have the couches that lays down into a bed and use those as massage tables or tanning beds.

have a bar in the salon, with a hot bartender, I'm always sitting there like, man I could really go for a ceasar right now....

What can you do in the shower to help skin/beauty without washing you face?

i dont like washing my face in the shower because it just washes off! is there anything else to help me skin, or any beauty tips that you can do in the shower? thanks!

I agree

you have to wash your face. just wash it while standing away from the water or wash it before you go into the shower and yeah, the face wash has to be washed off afterwards. also make sure you moisturize after a shower and before you go to bed. mineral makeup is really good for skin if you use makeup. but you really have to wash your face its important. also steam your face once a week then do like a face mask or something (google a homemade one, or buy one in the store) steaming face opens pores and allows you to clean them better.

my mom is a dermatolagist and she told me that mixing natrual organic things u can find around ur house lik...banannas ,oatmeal, tomatos, honey, milk strawberrys and putting on ur face like a face mask with water ,lemons.oranges, and things like that give it a fresh looking glow and it makes ur face feel like it can breathe i suggest doing it every once a week and u can tel the diffrence and for older people instead of botox doing this will make there face tighter like it was when they were young and for teens its a 85% chance it would clear up acney cause it fight oil bactiria that cause acne and it so awesome to put on ur face

Get the Neutrogena face wash.. It's little more pasty and doesn't wash away unitl you want it to and leaves your face feeling fresh and clean. It comes in a squirty tube.

It may help if you make sure to wash and condition your hair before you wash your body, especially your face. That way, regardless of if you wash your face in the shower or right after , you aren't getting dirt and oil from your hair on you.

Is my morning hair and beauty ritual bad for the environment?

I would like to fight global warming. So I have decided to cut my hair like a boy (I am a girl), so I will not have to use a hair dryer. Stop using makeup that I understand is not good for the environment and stop using Hair Salons that are not environmentally enlightened.

Anyone else ready to give up beauty of the environment and the fight against global warming?

wow okay, that post above is pretty creepy... anyhoo...

I don't believe global warming is man made. But I don't use a lot of beauty products because of the chemical hazards. cosmeticsdatabase.org

That is a site by the EWG. Go there and you have access to tons of information about products that are good/bad for the environment and your health.

I need a example CV to apply for Job in a SPA centre or beauty salon, please?

tips or CV ,how to apply for a Job in a SPA or beauty salon

it doesnt have to be any different from other CVs, they generally always include the same information.

1. Name, address, contact tel at the top.

2. your profile - a short paragraph about you to tell them how wonderful you are. this needs to grab their attention and want to make them read on. You should sell yourself here.

3. list your work expereince

4. list your qualifications

5.list your education - schools, colleges etc

6. personal information - date of birth, driving licence, interests and anything else you want to tell them.

How do i open up a Beauty Salon in North Carolina?

I just moved to North Carolina, i have owned several Beauty Salons in New York. Out here in North Carolina things are different. I need to know what steps i need to take in order for me to open a new salon.

First, find a location that will counteract your being new in the area. Second, make sure you have sufficient capital to launch a media blitz to let folks know you're in business. Finally, contact the State Cosmetology Board for exact licensing requirements and the city clerk for local business licenses

Good Luck!

Do malaysian woman care about their beauty and face? What is the meaning of a beautiful woman in malaysia?

do woman in malaysia use anti-wrinkle creams, are the concerned about their beauty? Is being beautiful an important thing in malaysia? please help me.

I am very sure that you will find beauty and health conscious women in Malaysia as you will find them anywhere else in the world. Of course, some of them use anti-wrinkle creams.

Malaysians, being Asians, are not prone to the physical symptoms of ageing until they reach the 50's at least. The women are usually petite, short and slim. Since they cover most of their body, they do not get sunburned too often either. The tropical climate allows their skin's natural oils to moisturise and protect their hair, skin and nails. They also don't consume alcohol, hence they have less health problems which are often triggered by excessive alcohol.

Malaysia is also abundant with luscious fruits and vegetables, so even low-income households have easy access to a healthy diet. And, owing to the very sunny climate, Malaysia has fewer depressed people, and it is easy to lose weight by exercising even a little in the outdoors.

Has anyone ever paid to have thier hair cut a beauty/hair cutting college or school?

Are they worth the money to pay for a haircut? What is the typical price for a haircut a beauty/hair cutting college? How good of a haircut would you get for$5?What are people's experinces been like getting your hair cut at places like this? Were they good or bad?

I always get my hair cut at the college where I live and I have never had a bad cut or colour. The only downside I found was that often it takes longer than if you were go to a professional.

You have to remember that these are students and they are being graded on what they do and how well they do it, so they don't want to mess up your hair, they want it to look nice. Also, their teachers are always there to take a look and they will fix up anything (no matter how small) they think was missed.

I think I pay $15 for a cut there, which is more than 50% less than the price I pay at a regular salon. My younger brother goes there and gets his cut for $10.

We've both had great experiences and continue to go there. I think it's worth a shot, if it doesn't work out... It's just hair it grows.

How do I get hot towels for beauty or spa treatments? Can I put them in the microwave?

I'm doing some hand massages for a group of ladies tomorrow and I've heard that by putting a hand mask on them and then wrapping their hands in hot (not wet) towels is really nice.

Any ideas how I can get them hot at the right time? Wouls I be able to put them in the microwave with a bowl of water next to them or would I really need to wet them?

Any answers really appreciated x

yea, microwave would be best way

good luck

i am a beauty therapist you dont need to place them in a microwave. A option is to put on the mask wrap the hands in cling - film to keep the heat in and so that the product will absorb more effectively into the skin, leave the mask on for 15mins. Then fill a sink with hot water place small towels in and wring them out and use these to remove the excess mask.

Yes you can put them in the microwave.I do it all the time for my acks an pains.

wen i used to do a wat shave we need hot towels and we put them in the microwave put if i woz you dont put them in dry as it will catch fire put them in damp at least good luck

you could try putting them in the dryer

The microwave is a bit small for that I would have thought, put them in the tumble dryer for 20 minutes instead

keep them on the radiator for an hour

mo just put it i the tumbledrier....microwave will lite it up..

if you did you would have to make them wet. dont ever put a dry towel in the microwave, itll catch fire

Yep microwave I had a party too and it worked PERFECTLY!!! I LOVED it!!

Can I own a beauty salon and not have a beautician license?

I have the opportunity to open a beauty salon, have no intention to cut hair or do nails.

I don't see why not, but it's different from state to state so you'd have to check it out yourself. I imagine you can as long as you have licensed cosmetologists working for you.

Why are beauty marks on the face in certain places attractive?

Why are beauty marks considered attractive if they mess up the basic vertical symmetry of a person's face? And also, why are they only attractive on certain parts of the face? Any reasons/explanations?

Becuase it makes people unique, and it makes you look natural and not superficial!

A beauty mark by the eyes draw more attention to the eyes!

While a mark by the lips make you think of lips (kissing)

While marks by your nose, or forehead draws attention to them, which isnt a good thing.

To be honest i dont notice marks like this, but now i have thought about it, i have different views.

Hey nice question, have a star =]

Marilyn Monroe and Madonna, there..... 2 reasons for you! I think some people think they are attractive because not many people have them and they make the person even more unique - personally I don't have one but I do think they can look hot.

On the face? Well, freckles are cute, those should count.

And a beauty mark near the lips draws attention to them, making you think of kissing ;-)

No idea, good question though!

Answerrrr? :p

beauty isn't all about symmetry

idk why people like beauty marks

What is the best way to market online my new home beauty spa products?

My goal is to obtain as many customers online as I can... any ideas???

Thank you!

I just started an online business, link below, and I am doing a number of things to promote it:

-sign up with google adwords

-make pages on myspace and squidoo

-optimize your place on the search pages

-put your url in every email and forum post

-start a blog

-use PPC (pay per click) services

Those are just a few....there are so many more, you can easily find ideas on any search engine search.

Hi,

Nice day to you.

There are many ways you can do online advertising. Either payable or free.

Here are some online advertising you can do in low cost to promote your business.

Send Solo Ad.

Post your website to search engine. But you should know how to make your site post at the top rank. Otherwise you would get any traffic because nobody will read out all the search.

Post article to article directories is the most effective way to drive traffic.

Start a blog related to your business.

Participate in forum discussion.

You must also know where to find your customers?

How to determine who are your targeted customers?

Feel free send a blank email to me chriswwy789@yahoo.com with the subject "Advertising" to know more how to promote your business online effectively.

Best wish.

Kindest Regards,

Chris

What is a good price, per week to lease beauty salon space in Australia?

I am considering renting out space in an Adelaide beauty salon to provide general beauty services. She has quoted me $120 per week. I have had another salon quote $165 per week for make-up services only. Are these good deals and what questions do I need to ask, before I go ahead with anything.

150-175 is the going rate

What are your beauty secrets??? Face creams, masks, anything you do that help keep your skin/face lookin young?

I'll be 25 this year and want to know what I can do to help keep my face lookin young and firm as long as possible. Also, what kind of specific moisturizers and creams have you used that you would personally recommend. And should I really invest in an eye cream, or will my face moisturizer be fine for my eye area as well?

ok well first of all i am a "sample" junkie. i prefer to try everything in the small free packages from places like sephora before spending a lot of money. so with that said these are the products that i actually have invested in b/c they work for me:

- i have Retin-A (from derm) for any pimples

- i also like to get mild at-home chemical peels about every 4 months

- i like using Dermatologica Multivitiamin Power Recovery Masque 2x a week. (i also recommend their sebum clearing masque to if you have that problem)

- my favorite moisturizer so far is Dr. Brandt RP3 cream (its pricey though so i'm living of samples i ordered on ebay now)

- i also hear good things about Amatokin but i haven't tried it

- I like Cosmedicine's Opti-mologist eye cream. it works well for me by erasing the dark circles. i've tried many other more costly eye creams and got zero results, so its all trail and error (again try samples)

- i use Cosmedicine's Medi-Matte lotion every morning it keeps your skin from getting shiny for hours

- and i like Tarte's Clean Slate face primer under foundation (or you can wear it alone), it feels like your skin is made of satin.

hope that helps some.

i really recommend

http://www.deliziososkincare.com/EsoticoNightCream.html and http://www.deliziososkincare.com/RejuvenatingGreenTeaantiagingcream.html and the last product i use on my face

http://www.deliziososkincare.com/RejuvenatingRoseFacialMask.html

and for my baths and body:

http://www.deliziososkincare.com/PassionFruityBubbleBath.html

http://www.deliziososkincare.com/ClearlyUnscentedBathSalt.html

and http://www.deliziososkincare.com/ChocolatyStrawberriesBodyLotion.html

by the way i have really sensitive skin so i only use natural products!

i think that you don't need an eye cream and can use a normal cream for your eyes!

Murad products saved my life- i went from having acne so bad that it looked like my cheeks were made of raw ground beef- now i have amazingly clear skin without scars and i actually get compliments on how good my skin looks sometimes- it didnt dry me out or make my face feel like i was burning off- it actually smelled good and fresh and it feels great- like i said a total lifesaver...Murad.com

Eating healthy, tretinion cream (prescribed by derm), drinking lots of water, facials, and exercise (releases toxins and brings blood to the face).

stay out of the sun

use hats outside and sunscreen

take off your make up asap with a very gentle soup .do not wear foundation

dont smoke

and dont be hitting the crack pipe during the week only on weekends

Where can i find a beauty spa type place that would treat me and my brother?

My brother likes to spend time dressed as women i dont have a problem with this and i am not interested in any negative comments so please dont bother.I would like to treat us both to a beauty treatment before christmas the whole works, waxing, facial, massage and finish the day with a makeover any ideas where we could go and they would treat him as well as me in the south of england would be best

i would imagine any where that is a professional salon would treat you and your brother to what ever treatments you wanted,,,,i work in a hairsalon attatched to a beauty spa, and know that on occasion we have had transexuals and cross dressers wanting treatment,,,,, not a problem,,, a professional salon should be just that!!!

Check in your area for beauty and cosmetology schools. They usually need clients to practice on, and they can perform the same services for greatly reduced prices. Consult with them when you call, ask if they perform those services for men. They would treat him much better if they knew his requests ahead of time, and not have you walk in and surprise them.

Call any CHAMPNEY'S there is one in Tring Herts. ,expensive but great for a real treat for your bro too !

Have fun and relax !

why dont you try your local college. my college in york do treatments for the public as part of their training.

Who is more easily hired to work in a beauty salon?

I was wondering is it easier for a manicurist/pedicurist or a facialist to find a job in a beauty salon? Which one makes better money?

Personally, I think you are looking at it all wrong. From what I am reading, it seems as though you will choose whichever is more profitable. You will not be doing the beauty industry - or yourself, any favors by doing this. The most successful people in the beauty industry are in it because they love what they do. The ones who go into any field for nothing other than financial gain tend to be miserable, and very unhappy with their work. Don't pick one career over another simply because your earning potential is greater. Instead, pick a career that you will enjoy doing. It will not only give you more job satisfaction in the long run, but it will also benefit the beauty industry as well. Even more than that, your potential future clients will gain from your being in the job because you love what you are doing. Do it just for the money, and they are the ones who lose. Its usually quite evident if a person really loves what they do, or not. If you aren't happy with your work, and do not show enthusiasm each and every day, then don't plan on making much money in either because you won't have many clients wanting services from you. Its as simple as that. Sure, you might get some here and there, but when they sense that you aren't really happy with your work, they'll just find someone who is and give their business to them instead. Just something to think about...

More women get mani/pedis than facials, so my money's on the manicurist.

i think it;s a market for all but it depends on the quality of the salon and also the city or town you are in and locations are the best way to decide. look at the quality of the neighboorhood your working in. i'd try something upscale where the money is.

it depends on the city and the salon. not all salons offer all services. a lot of estheticians (who do facials) work in spas instead of salons. a hair dresser obviously has an easier way in to a salon, and possibly a nail tech in most areas.

The art of a facial is very difficult to master. However, if you do, you will make more money as a facialist than as a manicurist or pedicurist.

A good facialist is very difficult to find, most spa goers will tip their facialist appreciatively because of this.

Manicurists and pedicurists are very common. It may be easy to find a job, but you will not make as much in tips as a facialist.

Hope this helps!

Do both. With proper organization you could scedule apointments for both if the salon you are working in could accomodate you.

What component is said to bring beauty to the face?

what is the component that is known to bring beauty(to the face)?

Symmetry. It's been shown that people who are generally considered attractive have a symmetrical face, ugly people don't.

Beautiful Parents. Its inherited genetically. Some exceptions exist. Like the genes might come from a grandparents and is hidden in the parents.

Hair & Beauty????

I love doing hair, i mess with mine all the time and i always do my friends but the most i can do is straighten it. I cant do french plaites or nothing fancy like that. Im doing a childcare course at college so i cant change courses so i can learn how 2 do them. does anyone know how i can become an expert on hair? Thanks

Expert on hair? Cosmotology classes. But I think when you enroll into them they also teach you make up techniques, hair dying (and styling ofcoarse) and doing acrylic nails.

Do you need to have a cosmetology license to run a Beauty Salon?

My stepmother wants to open up a Beauty Salon, but she doesn't intend on doing anything with the customers. She'll be managing the salon. She plans on hiring employees that have cosmetology licenses.

Anybody know what she needs to go through to get her salon up and running?

Contact your local labor board. Someone in that location must have a license, yes, but not necessarily the owner.

A business license first of all regardless what business you are in. Second just the knowledge of running any business.

What in our body brings beauty to the physical features of the face?

Is there any component or element in our body that brings beauty to our face features?

What shall i name my Beauty Spa/Salon?

I'm currently planning my business start up. I need to think of a name which conjures up the ideas; elegance, glamour, class, sophistication, professionalism, etc. Basically the perfect spa/salon.

Hairdressing wll not be a service offered however all other beauty and holistic treatment will be.

Once i have a name i can relate everything within/about my busines to that theme.

Hope you can help!

Envy.

I own a beauty salon.

You want a name, that automatically, people know it's a beauty salon. 'envy' type things, raise questions.

My salon is called Schöne Beauty.

(Schon is german for beautful.) "beautiful beauty".

try different languages.. etc.

name it Simplicity Salon

or Simplicity's Salon

or Simplicities Salon

Any good ideas for themes of a beauty salon?

I plan on opening a beauty salon soon. I want it to be very unique and have a cool theme. Can you think of any themes? What is something you wish to see at a beauty salon? Anything and everything helps helps!

That would depend on the clientele you wish to attract. I personally prefer a salon that is obviously CLEAN. With a warm feel from nice woodwork and furnishings. Uncluttered stations with comfortable chairs and shampoo techs that give a great firm scalp massage including a brief massage of my neck. If you start every service with a great shampoo the rest is easy. The shampoo sets the tone for the visit. Now obviously that shampoo may be at the end, but it still needs to be fantastic. I use to do hair and learned early on that my goal at the sink was to put that client almost to sleep. I got complements such as " The best shampoo i every got from middle aged clients". The only thing that can mess up a great shampoo and cut is a poor front desk. Start the appointment and end the appointment with pleasant and attentive desk people. I know one shop that doesn't take calls at the check in/out area so the client standing there is given the priority tey deserve. With computerized booking it is easy. Sorry for spouting off and good luck.

Well my salon has a jungle-y type theme. It is painted a dark red and everything is zebra print or cheetah print. All over there are little animal statues. Its a great environment and its really cute and imaginative.

Curl Up and Dye.

Kidding...how about a tropical spa theme?

I love the tropical scene, it makes you feel so warm and happy.

I have seen those sort of stores when I travel, never a spot when I want to get my hair done. Gotta wait about a week :(

Ancient Greece, so all goddess type stuff.

A beach theme would be really cool. A like "superstar" theme. With spotlights, and cool things like that.

OR...Black and White. That would be REALLY cool . Like almost everything black and white would look so chrisp, clean, and amazing!

Or to be really wack..:P...like Greek theme, with long drapey curtains, and pillars...

you could make a plka dot theme or a tropilcal theme or a bech one or like your on a cruise ship or a under the sea theme and have relaxing music and coupons so people will come or rainbows

Is it possible to remove beauty marks on face from birth?

If you were born with a small beauty mark on your face or from as long as you can remember, can it be removed? The dermatologist said IPL treatment can only fade it to 80% but not 100%.

You do not need that treatment. This is a simple cure that has given fast, remarkable results and it's using natural oils. Use any natural oil. You rub mark over and over and it will start to fade in a few days. In two weeks it will have faded much more. Keep it up and will completely go. It got rid my facial mole, prominent scars and countless other skin imperfections and treatment has helped many on Answers.

SOURCE(S): 20+ years research, experimentation using safe, natural treatments to cure many skin conditions.

you mentioned using natural oils?

would you give a few examples of oils that would be used in this situation?

thanks http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20080516141721AACEnyP&kid=Hrl4C3u5AmiUWPjXhCey&s=comm&date=2008-08-25+20%3A14%3A58&.crumb=

i have 2 that are being removed later in the month that are on my face small but slightly raised. i am getting them removed with a knife, and i will get an indent in the skin, but its better than discoloration

Yes...it is possible! I have a huge one on the side of my face that is strawberry colored. My mom talked about getting it removied..but i decided against it! It will never be 100% gone.

A plastic surgeon can remove any thing. Listen to your dermotologist. A small birthmark is attractive and sits you apart from every one else. Why would you wanna remove it?

Hair beauty?

how to manage your hair making it look healthy, full of shine and volume without spending big bucks at the saloon?

first of all excercise or do Yoya , drink lots of water and maintain a healty diet. secondly avaoid usage of chemicals . eat protein rich foods . apply amla retha shikakai etc if ya r keen to apply smthing . use henna instand of dye. apply eggs . head ( or hair ) massage is very neccesary . Head massage should be done once a week or twice but do it. Bet oil is either dat of mustard or olive oil( de best). oil should remain on ur hair for 2 days atlest . thes are mah suggesion

Eat healthy, find good products that work for you and a stylist that works at a mid-range salon. You can check out products with a book called "Don't go shopping for haircare products without me"... it came out in 2004, is available at the library and reviews over 4,000 products.

i use everything Paul Mitchell

most ppl think its expensive but not really...

shampoo, condition, hair spray, curling iron, sirum, creme, everything... lol

Use A Good GENTLE Shampoo And Treatment Conditoner. Avoid Over-Brushing, Over-Combing, Too Much Blow-Drying, Styling Products And "Heated" Appliances. And Your Hair Will Shine With Health.(P.S. Too Much Coloring, Bleaching, Relaxing And Exposure To The Elements Are A Big No-No Too.)

Any beauty salon that is good and has reasonable price? What treatment is recommended based on my skin?

So could anyone tell me which beauty salon has a good and reasonable price? Since i am still a student, i would want to buy a package which i can afford.

The face problems i have are blackheads and pimple scars. So is there any facial treatments anyone could recommend?

why not use your local college these offer many treatments and are very cheap and also if your student you get a discount as well. These would also be able to tell you what type of treatment you need, but I would suggest a vapor facial using the correct products have a case study course and you'll see the results pretty soon. hope this helps

You can try http://www.findabeautysalon.com if you're looking for a decent priced beauty salon. Their listings of beauty salons are all pretty affordable. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20080411003111AA4Q5qB&kid=A5xOOnLrEFkHNSgZVHkG&s=comm&date=2008-09-29+16%3A10%3A41&.crumb=

Maybe you have hit upon something here. Palin is from Alaska, her husband works for BP (oil company), Alaska is a hop, skip, and a jump from Russia, and Russia invaded Georgia for their oil........make any connections here? They all belong to the same club.

Of course. Didn't you know? Since Alaska is close to Russia, that automatically gives Sarah Palin foreign policy experience?? (Insert Sarcasm).

It's doubtful. You would have to be soft in the head to think she could face these issues easily.

I'm not sure she can.

of course baby.

us women run this world ;]

I highly doubt it. And I don't get it...she's not that pretty!

You might want to brush up on your grammar first-sounds like you are motivated to succeed!

Best Wishes!

You should relax and be yourself. You were hired because people are probably naturally drawn to you.

People just spent good money getting their hair done. Most of them want to keep it looking just that good until their next visit.

Learn your products and what each does for the different types of hair and hair styles.

Suggest the products that would work for them.

Above all, don't forget to ask for the sale, which can be done 100 different ways.

"Do you want try this shampoo?"

"I think you'll love this gel, and if you buy the shampoo, you'll get it for free. Would you like to try that deal for $15?

When they ask you a question--they are telling you that they are interested in buying.

All you have to do is answer every question honestly--even if you have to ask them to hang on a minute while you call your beauty supply house. You will earn their business plus business from their friends and family.

Be yourself, sell products that you believe in and you will be successful!

Hi,

I have a lot of experience marketing small companies online (I have 3 companies). One of the best ways is to sign up at business directories and protals. These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book). The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they're ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.

My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive. I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a person enter's their company info. I received it in the mail 3 days ago =)

I don't know if they still have that promotion, but you can try to get the free card holder here:
